Vuonna 2003 perustettu SURE restonomiliitto on restonomien suunnannäyttäjä, tavoitteena kehittää palvelualoja eteenpäin korkeakoulutettujen näkökulmaa hyödyntäen, parantaa palkkatasoa, sekä näyttää suuntaa restonomeille niin opiskeluaikana kuin myös työelämässä. SURE on yhteisö, jossa korostetaan korkeakoulutettujen osaamista ja jossa edistetään vaikuttamistyötä restonomien eteen. Restokisat pääsivät haastattelemaan Ida Lajomaa, joka toimii opiskelija- ja nuorisotyön asiantuntijana Surella.
Polku alalle
Ida tutustui alaan kesätyön kautta, eikä aluksi pitänyt vaihtoehtona lähteä opiskelemaan alaa. Mieli kuitenkin muuttui, kun jatko-opointoja miettiessä, hakukoneiden ehdotus oli aina sama: Haagan restonomilinja. Päätös oli oikea, ja se ei ole kaduttanut Idaa tähänkään päivään mennessä. Työelämä innosti alalle entisestään ja antoi varmistusta Idalle siitä, että asiakkaiden palvelu ja ihmisten tapaaminen on hänen juttunsa.
Suuntana SURE
Opiskeluaikana Ida oli mukana opiskelijatoiminnassa, jota kautta hän tutustui Sureen ja sitä kautta on noussut nykyiseen tehtäväänsä opiskelija ja nuorisotyön asiantuntijana. Hänen tehtävänään on tehdä opiskeluajasta parempaa ja saada siitä kaikki irti, jotta opiskelu olisi miellyttävää. Ida mainitsee, että työnsä parhaita puolia on mahdollisuus päästä kehittämään itseään, oppimaan uutta, työskentelemään oman unelmansa eteen sekä vaikuttamaan siihen, millainen on restonomien opiskelukulttuuri,
Miksi alalle?
Restonomiala on ihmis- ja palvelukulttuurin ala. Ihmisten kohtaaminen, kokemukset ja elämykset eivät tule loppumaan, vaikka teknologia kehittyy. Restonomeja tarvitaan luomaan tapahtumia, jotta ihmiset saavat oikeita kokemuksia. Restonomeilla on runsaasti mahdollisuuksia työllistyä niin kotimaassa, kuin kansainvälisestikin. Koulutus luo vahvan pohjan ja tarjoaa mahdollisuuksia. Palvelupolut ja -kulttuuri vaativat restonomien asiantuntijuutta. Alan monipuolisuus.
